YB Tuan Gobind Singh Deo, Malaysia’s Minister of Digital, provided Asia House Corporate Members with the latest updates on Malaysia’s digital ambitions and its role as the 2025 ASEAN Chair at an off-the-record briefing on Tuesday, 10 June.

Minister Gobind outlined Malaysia’s digital priorities, including infrastructure development, talent building, and data-driven policy. He also highlighted the key objectives behind the creation of the Ministry of Digital and the establishment of the National Artificial Intelligence Office (NAIO). The new ASEAN Digital Framework was discussed as a key regional initiative under Malaysia’s leadership.

Asia House Corporate Members asked Minister Gobind’s views on private sector involvement in the NAIO, data security and accessibility, and regulatory approaches to emerging technologies.
