Success story: Indonesia’s tax amnesty
21 March 2017
Thomas Lembong, Chairman of the Indonesia Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), said in an exclusive interview with Asia House that Indonesia's tax amnesty is the "most successful in history". According to the Bangkok Post at least 745,000 taxpayers have declared more than $330 billion of assets so far.
Higher tax revenue is the key to boost infrastructure spending and growth, a priority underlined by the latest report of the Asian Development Bank’s (ADB) called Meeting Asia’s Infrastructure Needs.
ADB’s Vice President Bambang Susantono will discuss key findings of this report on 28 April at Asia House.
