Arancha González discusses shifts in world trade system

The current state of the world trade system was discussed at Asia House this week during a briefing with Arancha González, Executive Director of the International Trade Centre (ITC).
González joined Asia House Corporate Members to explore the future of multilateralism amid a shift towards regional and bilateral trade agreements, and the implications of this for the World Trade Organization (WTO).
Options for WTO reform and the role of China in global trade system were also covered.
The briefing, chaired by Charlie Humphreys, Director of Corporate Affairs at Asia House, was part of the Asia House New Global Trade Order Series, and was held exclusively for Asia House Corporate Members.
Major global policy shifts, and their likely impact on world trade, will be discussed at Asia House’s major conference in Singapore on 22 November.
