Enrique Manalo, Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Philippines, will brief Asia House Corporate Members on the Philippines' foreign policy priorities and regional dynamics during an exclusive, off-the-record briefing on Tuesday 18 February.
Speaking at Asia House, Secretary Manalo will share insights on the Philippines' evolving diplomatic landscape, particularly amid heightened tensions in the South China Sea. He will discuss the Philippines’ strategies for strengthening rules-based international order, including recent enhanced defense cooperation agreements with the United States and balancing relations with major powers in the region.
Secretary Manalo will also address the Philippines' chairmanship of the Maritime Task Force in ASEAN and initiatives to promote maritime security and cooperation. The Philippines' economic diplomacy efforts, including trade partnerships, maritime resource development, and initiatives to attract foreign investment in key sectors such as technology and renewable energy, will also be discussed.
This off-the-record session will be moderated by Asia House Chief Executive Michael Lawrence OBE and presents Corporate Members with a valuable opportunity to engage directly with one of Southeast Asia's most experienced diplomats and a key figure in President Marcos' administration.
