CORPORATE PROGRAMME
‘A forum for regular economic and political updates from British and foreign diplomats’

As the premier institution promoting understanding of business and cultural interaction between Asia and the UK, we arrange approximately 125 events a year, covering 30 Asian countries with total audiences of 35,000.

The Asia House corporate programme, which includes lectures, seminars and major conferences, is achieved through working closely with Asian heads of mission in the UK, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, UK Trade & Investment and our corporate members. Our goals are to increase awareness of the latest political and economic developments and to promote active business linkages.

We do this in a number of ways:
  • Ambassadors’/High Commissioners’ programme
We provide a forum for regular economic and political updates from British and foreign diplomats through informal breakfasts and luncheons.

  • Visiting dignitaries
We provide a platform for Asian presidents, prime ministers and other high-level ministers to deliver their latest economic and political messages to leading UK business opinion-formers. For instance, since the formal opening of our new headquarters in October 2005 by Lee Kuan Yew, Minister Mentor of the Republic of Singapore, we have arranged events for seven heads of state/prime ministers.

  • CEO round table
We encourage debate and policy review at the most senior level by hosting round-table discussions with speakers including UK government ministers and other leading international figures.

  • Bilaterals/business councils/societies
We act as the secretariat to important inter-governmental business and social institutions for Japan, Korea, Malaysia, India and Pakistan, and actively encourage debate and interaction on a variety of levels.

Our facilities at Asia House include: Adams-style ‘Fine Rooms’ for meetings, receptions, lectures and other cultural performances; a café serving pan-Asian food; and a modern art gallery presenting historical and contemporary works. In 2005, we were delighted to receive the prestigious Charity Finance Award for Arts, Culture & Heritage in public recognition of our excellent work in this area.

In short, we believe that we are the venue in London for Asian affairs.
