This website was developed by Asia House as part of our exhibition Asia: Body Mind Spirit presented at the Brunei Gallery of the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), London in autumn 2004.
The exhibition displayed some of the items in the unique and rare collections of Asian art owned by the Wellcome Library. They included paintings, manuscripts, photographs, medical charts, masks, a traditional Chinese medicine shop full of herbs and a reconstruction of a Tibetan shrine.
The project was funded by the Wellcome Trust and the Heritage Lottery Fund. The website explores many different aspects of Asian health and well-being through the various works that were exhibited.
