Named after the thorny and notoriously smelly local fruit, The Big
Durian is unafraid to take on a variety of prickly Malaysian taboos
and illuminates the suppressed history of racial tension since
independence from Britain in 1957.

Love Conquers All
Tan Chui Mui, 2006, 90 minutes,
PG (TBC)
Love Conquers All tells the story of a young girl who moves from
Penang to KL to work at her aunt's restaurant. Set amongst KL’s
Chinese community in the 1980s, it reveals a seedy and dangerous
underbelly to the capital city.
