Asia House presents a series of events
to coincide with the Asia House
exhibition Htein Lin: Burma Inside Out.
Gill Pattison runs River Gallery, Yangon, Myanmar’s premier
art space.
It showcases the best works of Myanmar’s leading contemporary
artists,
both emerging and established. She will give an illustrated talk
about
the characteristics of contemporary art in Myanmar and her impressions
of the trends that are shaping its evolution.
Chaw Ei Thein is a Yangon-based artist, singer, performance artist
and art
teacher. She has collaborated with Htein Lin on performance art
in Myanmar.
In her presentation she will discuss the state of Myanmar’s
performance art
scene and the challenges faced by artists in the country today.
