Dr Volker Scheid is a leading academic and practitioner
of acupuncture.
He will discuss the transformation of traditional Chinese medicine,
anecdotal evidence and experience of these practices today and how
they
fit into the rich tapestry of medical practice in London and the
UK. He will
also give an account of acupuncture in contemporary China. The Academic
Director of the European Institute of Oriental Medicine, Dr Sheid
studied
Chinese medicine in the UK and spent three years in China undertaking
postgraduate studies at the Universities of Chinese Medicine in
Beijing
and Shanghai.
