LECTURE
A Feast for the Eyes: Contemporary Japanese Ceramics
and Food Presentation
Yasuo Terada in association with Wabi Art and TAKAKO
Tuesday 31 October at Asia House
Doors 6.30, lecture 6.45-7.45 followed by reception
and food tasting

A fourth generation potter, Yasuo Terada is a star in the Japanese ceramics
world. Involved in every stage of the process, from digging clay to building
kilns, Terada follows his family tradition by making dishes, bowls, cups and
vessels of all kinds - some of which are elaborate exhibition pieces - but all
of which remain functional. He also creates innovative artistic pieces
combining the age old tradition of Oribe-ware style with a contemporary flair.

Master potter Yasuo Terada will discuss his work and influences. Master chef
Takako will show how Terada’s elegant works can be transformed for daily
use in a demonstration of food presentation - which you will be able to taste!

Yasuo Terada’s show, Transcending Time is at the A&D Gallery, 51 Chiltern
Street, W1U 6LY (within walking distance of Asia House) from 30 Oct-11 Nov.
It will be open until 10pm on the evening of the talk. For further details
