A fourth generation potter, Yasuo Terada is a
star in the Japanese ceramics
world. Involved in every stage of the process, from digging clay
to building
kilns, Terada follows his family tradition by making dishes, bowls,
cups and
vessels of all kinds - some of which are elaborate exhibition pieces
- but all
of which remain functional. He also creates innovative artistic
pieces
combining the age old tradition of Oribe-ware style with a contemporary
flair.
Master potter Yasuo Terada will discuss his work and influences.
Master chef
Takako will show how Terada’s elegant works can be transformed
for daily
use in a demonstration of food presentation - which you will be
able to taste!
Yasuo Terada’s show, Transcending Time is at the A&D Gallery,
51 Chiltern
